ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Mission must serve primarily girls and/or women

Have an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less

If you are located in the US, you must have a 501(c)3 status. In Africa you must have proof of NGO status.

Operational for at least 1 year

Must have one program that addresses an issue that is a ripple effect of the Girl Power Movement. i.e. An organization that provides bicycles for girls to get to school is a candidate. An organization that provides scholarships only is not.

Does not currently have professional video of the organization
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS

Founded and actively run by a woman

Operational for at least 1 year

Have annual sales of less than $250,000 USD

Must be a true social entrepreneur - business must be solving social problems or effecting social change.

Does not currently have professional video of the business or significant press attention
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
STEP ONE:
We spend time getting to know your team to understand your needs and devise the best video strategy for your mission. This happens over Skype calls a few weeks before we begin filming.
STEP TWO:
Based on our calls, we send you a draft outline of the script of your video. We know this will change once we begin, but it gives us a framework and helps ensure we are on the same page. This happens about a week before we begin filming.
STEP THREE:
Lights, Camera, Action! We spend several days on the ground with you capturing the work you are doing. Depending what we have outlined this can happen over the course of 2 - 7 days.
STEP FOUR:
The editing begins. We will do three rounds of edits of the video making sure you are completely happy with the messaging. We will also select clips to use as shorter social media videos as well. This is a 2-3 week process.
STEP FIVE:
Final delivery! We will send you files of your video, 5 social media cut down versions and 15 still images that complement the video content.

What does a successful candidate look like?
We are looking for candidates that have a clear understanding and appreciation for what video can do for the visibility of their organization or business. Do you have a social media presence? How can you show us you have been actively trying to grow your audience?
If I am selected, when would the filming take place?
We will be filming in Africa in September and in the New York Area in November & December.
You may be holding special events that you would like for us to film and we will do our best to be available when we can capture the best story for you.
We struggle with Social Media, will you be able to help us?
We will happily help you strategize the best ways to use your new videos! The tricks of the trade for social media are changing all the time and we can help you establish some best practices.
Will I be able to use the videos and photos for any purpose?
Well, almost any. All images, music and likenesses will be fully licensed so you can post them to YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, your website, show them at conferences, email them out. You will not be able to sell them for any purpose.
How long is the process from selection until we have the videos?
Soon after you are selected, we will have a meeting to devise a schedule to meet your needs. We will do our best to accommodate any fundraising deadlines you are trying to meet. Once we finish filming, your video is typically ready in 3-4 weeks.
